WW Health Welcomes Dr. Steven Verbeek and Laura Beeson

Western Wisconsin Health (WW Health) is pleased to announce that Dr. Steven Verbeek, an OB-GYN, and Laura Beeson, a family practice nurse practitioner, have joined our health care team.

On May 28, 2017, Dr. Steven Verbeek joined the women’s health team as an OB-GYN. Dr. Verbeek attended medical school in Minnesota, both in Duluth and Minneapolis. He completed his OB-GYN residency at Providence Hospital and Medical Center in Southfield, Michigan. Dr. Verbeek takes a special interest in minimally-invasive surgery, treatment of urinary leakage, and correction of pelvic support problems, in addition to normal gynecologic concerns such as the menopausal transition. Dr. Verbeek enjoys using a team approach to pregnancy care, including coming alongside midwives, as needed. Calm deliveries are his ultimate goal. “It is deeply satisfying for me to be a part of such an important time in a family’s life– the growth and birth of their child,” said Dr. Verbeek. “I appreciate the trust placed in me by my patients as we work together toward optimal health throughout their lives.”

Starting on June 5, 2017, Laura Beeson joined the provider team as a Family Practice Nurse Practitioner. Laura obtained her Master’s Degree in Nursing from Georgetown University in Washington, District of Columbia. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from Winona State University in Winona, MN. Laura takes a special interest in family practice, weight management, endocrinology, and orthopedics. Prior to joining WW Health, Laura worked for Calumet Medical Center in Chilton, WI. She takes a proactive approach to health care. “A healthy attitude and lifestyle are contagious, but don’t wait to catch it from others. Be a carrier,” encourages Laura.

Later this summer, Kerry Dixon, Certified Nurse Midwife, Dr. Sarah Aluning, Pediatrician, and Dr. Ashwathy Pillai, Internal Medicine Provider, will also be joining the WW Health team.
