Western Wisconsin Health (WW Health) is pleased to announce we will be partnering with the Baldwin-Woodville Area School District this fall to offer school-based mental health services for students. This collaboration will give both organizations the opportunity to support our community health improvement goal to increase access to mental health services, and also provide future youth resilience curriculum and programs.
Through this program, students will have access to a qualified, licensed clinical mental health provider during the school day. There will be a provider at each building on Wednesdays during the school year starting on September 27, 2017. The Baldwin-Woodville Area School District provides a space for the services to be provided. The WW Health providers available will be as follows (subject to change): Dr. Christopher Babbitt, Clinical Psychologist at Greenfield Elementary; Donna Elenkiwich, Licensed Professional Counselor/Clinical Substance Abuse Counselor at Viking Middle School; and Bev Green, Licensed Clinical Social Worker at the Baldwin-Woodville Area High School. This is a great opportunity for students to have access to services and not have to miss as much school, and prevents parents from having to miss work or alter their schedule.
“I couldn’t be happier about our collaboration with the Baldwin-Woodville School District,” said Dr. Christopher Babbitt, Clinical Psychologist and Director of Behavioral Health services at WW Health. “The School Based Mental Health Initiative is a great example of how far we’ve come in recognizing and then addressing the mental health needs of our community. This kind of collaboration is ideal in that it brings to bear the resources of two systems who can work together to meet a clear need. If we had worked separately, we could never reach the goals we have set for ourselves to make this community a healthy and happy place to work and play. I look forward to seeing our first students this fall and in to the future.”
If you are interested in your child receiving services, please contact the school counselor(s) at each building in order to obtain a referral form. To learn more about Behavioral Health services at WW Health, please visit wwhealth.org or call 715-684-1111.
