Dr. Michael Schneider grew up in Pierre, South Dakota and attended University of South Dakota. He attended medical school at Wake Forest University in Winston Salem, North Carolina. Dr. Schneider completed his residency at Keesler Air Force base in Biloxi, Mississippi. He served as a surgeon at Pensacola Naval Hospital, was deployed overseas following the 9/11/01 event.  Received Honorable Discharge from United States Air Force as Major in 2002.

Dr. Schneider takes an interest in Minimally invasive surgery; including a minimally invasive procedure for the management of Venous Insufficiency.  Interested in ERAS—–Enhanced Recovery After Surgery: a philosophy and pathway of surgery that plans discharge from hospital even prior to surgery. There is emphasis on excellent pain control, early ambulation and nutrition to increase outcomes and satisfaction. He enjoys the total variety that encompasses General Surgery: endoscopy, laparoscopy, breast disease, colon disease, skin lesions, gallbladder disease, vein disease, acute care/emergency surgery.

In his free time he enjoys spending time with family and doing so outdoors as much as possible.  Enjoy landscaping and gardening.  Very much enjoy identifying and attracting birds to the property.  Enjoy sports and being active.
