Western Wisconsin Health held a Dash to Disney kick-off event on Monday, January 8, 2018 to start their family-friendly 10-week community walking challenge. Nearly 600 people attended the event and a total of 912 participants registered for the challenge!
Guests were able to register, receive a free Dash to Disney T-shirt and enjoy family-friendly winter wellness activities including:
- Snow shoeing with Willow River & Glen Hills Park
- Meet & Greet with the snow sisters and their snow friend from Occasions with Character and have their photo taken by Suzanne Wynveen Photography
- Hot cocoa from The Hazelnut Tree
- Healthy snacks from Nilssen’s

- Caricatures with Dignity by Thomas Epp
Participants of the Dash to Disney challenge will work together to achieve one goal: walking to Disney World! Throughout the challenge, participants (ages 5 and up) will virtually step to various Disney locations around the globe. If participants reach the final goal of walking to all Disney Destinations together, all completed participants will be entered into a drawing to win a TRIP TO WALT DISNEY WORLD!!
“It has been wonderful to see the overwhelming response from families in the community and their excitement surrounding this walking challenge,” said Natasha Ward, Director of Community Health Improvement. “We can’t wait to see the progress throughout the challenge and look forward to discovering more ways to keep families focused and involved in their wellness.”
